Today I’m reviewing the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup which I’ve been testing out for some weeks now. The Double Wear foundation is a classic and cult-favorite and after using it for a while, I can definitely see why! Read on for the full review.
Estee Lauder Claims: A foundation with clinically proven staying power.
What it does: Look flawless all day and night. This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, and non-stop activity. Lightweight and comfortable, it is clinically proven to last up to 15 hours without smudging or coming off on clothes. Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day and well into the night.
My Experience with Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup SPF 10:
The packaging of this foundation is very classy and vintage like, with its royal blue glossy cover box and heavy glass bottle with a screw cap in golden..it is however, quite inconvenient to carry around and having no pump either, is a pain to pour out every time to use especially for a klutzy like me.
The texture is liquidy, quite runny and has to be worked in the skin pretty quickly as it has a tendency to set quickly.
I have combination skin with a lot of redness on my face as i had to travel a lot in noon time and this foundation covers it very well. It provides medium coverage and can be built up to full without looking cakey. It stays on my skin for around 8 hours! Also, it gives a natural matte finish and I don’t even need to powder my skin because it sets so quickly. It stays on skin like cement, never rubbing off-even on white shirts. But beware; it stays so well that you need a good makeup remover to completely remove it.The texture is neither too thick nor too thin. It feels just right. It does not feel heavy at all. It contains SPF 10, but beware, it’s a physical sunscreen, so it does cause tiny bit of flash reflection.
Also, I have heard dry-skinned ladies saying it clings to dry patches so be sure to moisturize well. I can’t comment on how well it works on mature skin so get a free sample and try it out first. This foundation has never broken me out. It has a bit of a strong paint-like smell which some people may find offensive. It smells exactly like Studio Fix Fluid. I personally like the smell!
Pros of Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup SPF 10:
- Adapts to your skin tone and looks natural.
- Did not break me out.
- Priceeyyyyy. I died of guilt after buying this! But oh! It was so worth it.
- Transfer-proof and waterproof.
- Medium coverage that is buildable to heavy coverage. There is another foundation in the double wear range called Double Wear
Cons of Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup SPF 10:
- Dry-skinned ladies need to moisturise beforehand.
- Shade numbers are a bit confusing at first to understand.
- Some ladies might not like the smell.
